The Harvesters opened up the 2014 season against the Bad News Bears in a well played, hard fought ball game! Both teams sported fantastic pitching with the Harvesters Dennis Garcia pitching 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and striking out 3. It was a 2-0 ball game with The Bad News Bears threatening again in the 4th inning when they loaded the bases. The Harvesters would get out of the jam without surrendering a run by doing the unthinkable, and turning a TRIPLE PLAY! A liner was hit to third base, where Justin Baker caught it and quickly tossed it over to second base where Lynn Schaefer would turn the throw over to Harold Jones quickly as well to complete the TRIPLE PLAY!! That would spark The Harvesters to put on their rally caps in the 6th inning. Kevin Babcock started it off with a single up the middle, followed by Harold Jones smashing a double to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.
