Is it playoff baseball already?

What a game it was! Unfortunately neither team could break the mold and the game ended in a very tough but equally rewarding way.  The Denver Hitmen tied the Denver Chill in 11 total innings ending with the score 1 to 1. Pitching and defense was outstanding yet again for the Hitmen! Daniel Sandoval was on the hill taking on what we perceive could be one of the best teams in the league, the Denver Chill. The game was very well-played all around with the Hitmen only giving up 1 error and 1 bad throw that allowed the Chill to finally get their first run in the 7th inning. Danielle (LA) had runners on nearly every inning but the Hitmen did not get discouraged, they stayed strong, made their plays and got LA out of each inning.

It wasn’t until the 5th of a no score game when the Hitmen finally struck first. Fast Eddy started it off with a base hit followed by George linning a shot up the middle sending Eddy to 3rd. Then came the big cat (Brandon) lacing it into left to send Eddy home. After that the bats went cold again on both sides. Into the 7th the game went, runners on the corner and 1 out, a line drive down the 3rd base line was scooped up by George and thrown to first base for out number 2 but the play wasnt over, the runner thought he would chance it and headed for home, an unusual bobble of the ball on a throw to home allowed the Chill’s only run to come in. It wasnt a line drive or a big hit, just a measly bobbled ball that tied it up. Other very notable plays came from both short stop (Fast Eddy),  left field Mikey (Loud and proud), and center field Steve (Mr. Root) on some very spectacular plays to keep the Chill to 1 run. The Denver Hitmen and Denver Chill are of the top in both leagues and that will be the last regular season game they play but after this game that might not be the last time they see eachother.

Hitmen take on the Bison, an old foe/friend from the 25A league! Jason Edwards will be on the hill in hopes to continue on their success!
