Teams face off for first time due to rainout

Arvada, CO  The Colorado Bombers will face 35W newcomer, The Greensox, this Sunday at Arvada West High School.  The game time has not yet been officially determined as the Bombers have requested a change from a 9:00 start to 4:00 P.M. so they can have a full roster available for the game.  UPDATE SATURDAY, JUNE 14....GAME TIME REMAINS 9:00 A.M.  We here at Bombers Central will update when the final time is announced but it is looking more like it will stay at 9:00 A.M.  This should be the second game of the season between these two teams but their Opening Day game was postponed due to wet field conditions.

Both teams come into the game struggling to get off the schneid this season.  They are both 0-4 coming into the game this week although the Bombers still have a suspended game to complete against the Mudcats in which they trail 20-18.  The game will be completed on August 3rd.

The Bombers have given up a league high 64 runs and the Greensox have given up 46 while the Bombers have 31 runs scored to the 'Sox 25.  The one saving grace for both teams is that all of the teams in the 35W league will make the playoffs so there is still time to get things together and make a push to the postseason.

Bombers "Ironman" Bill MacDonald will get the call on the mound if the game stays at 9:00 A.M.  There is some doubt if he can make the game if it is moved to 4:00 P.M. and if that occurs, Keith Losey would get the ball.

The Bombers bats came alive in a big way last week against the always tough Mudcats and that is a good sign for the team going forward.  Cleanup hitter and last year's RBI Machine, Dennis White, got himself going and knocked in a couple of runs last week and that bodes well for the Bombers coming up.

Remember, check back here later today to see the official start time for Sunday's game.
