The Denver Yetis handed the Colorado Cutthroats their fourth straight loss to open the 2013 season in a game that featured 29 runs, 21 hits, and 5 home runs.

After jumping out to a 2-0 lead on a 2-run single by Kenneth Reichelt in the first inning, the Cutthroats surrendered runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings and were tied going into the bottom of the 3rd. Mike Picchetti untied things with a 2-run single in the bottom of the 3rd, and was knocked in by Dr. Kellen Sorauf two batters later.

The Yetis bats heated up after that, scoring a combined 8 runs in the 4th and 5th innings. The Cutthroats had the game within a run at 10-9 after a 3-run homer by Jon Bielecki and an error allowing Sorauf to score in the bottom of the 5th.

While the Yetis kept scoring, putting up a combined 10 runs in the 7th and 8th innings, the Cutthroats could not keep up and ended up on the wrong side of an 11-run game.+

Something has to give this week and the Cutthroats take on the Spartans (0-3).
