The Cubs came out swinging at CU in Boulder on Sunday, smashing 15 hits in 6 innings to beat the Mile High Green Elephants 13-7.

Cubs ace JD Heredia started on the mound and pitched 4 innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs to pick up the win.  Zach Newhuis pitched the next two, with closer Jarin Dorchinez pitching the 7th in a non-save situation.

With the first game played by the Cubs at Scott Carpenter Park, the Cubs felt like it was an every day home, seeing the ball well from the start of the game and finishing with 15 hits.  Leading the offense was SS Jorge Lovatos going 4-4 (with help from the sun in CF!), DH Bryer Mueller 3-3, along with 2B Andrew Clark, CF Chris Murray and C Adam Bradell collecting 2 hits each.  The big blast came from Paul "the ripper" Rummage connecting on a missile to left for a grand slam in the bottom of the 4th.  "It really felt good to get some good wood.  I've been seeing it pretty well these last few games and the work I put in in the video room this past week paid off", said Rummage in the socially distant clubhouse after the game.

The Cubs move to 7-0 in the 18AAA league (12-1-1 overall) and temporarily into sole possession of first.  The Green Elephants fall to 3-4.
